Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Biostatistics
Dr. Yi Lian is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Biostatistics Division at the University of Pennsylvania. His methodological research spans high-dimensional statistical learning, federated learning, missing-data methods, and integrative analysis of heterogeneous data. He also has extensive experience in clinical trials and real-world evidence studies—developing protocols and statistical analysis plans, leading primary analyses, and preparing results for dissemination—in cancer epidemiology, cardio-oncology, and pharmacoepidemiology.
Motivated by clinically grounded questions, particularly in clinical trials, Dr. Lian applies established methods when appropriate and develops new methodology when existing tools are insufficient. His current work explores how large language models and other foundation models can support trial design, conduct, and analysis.
