Thomas Westbrook, BA
PhD Student in Genomics and Computational Biology
Thomas Westbrook is a Ph.D. candidate in Genomics and Computational Biology and an NIH/NIAID F31 Predoctoral Fellow in the Kim Lab. He received his BA in Mathematics and Computer Science from Washington University in St. Louis. Broadly focused on AI and deep learning applications in biology, his research aims to advance precision medicine by predicting chronic and treatment-induced autoimmunity through machine learning across genetics, plasma proteomics, and multi-modal biomedical data.
Thomas specializes in representation learning, multi-modal data integration, and predictive modeling across population-scale biobanks and clinical cohorts. His current work includes generating low-dimensional proteomic embeddings to improve model generalizability and predicting immune-related adverse events in cancer immunotherapy.
