Jagadeesh Puvvula, PharmD, PhD, MPH
Instructor of Biostatistics and Epidemiology
Instructor of Biostatistics and Epidemiology
Dr. Puvvula is an environmental epidemiologist in the Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Informatics at the University of Pennsylvania, Perelman School of Medicine. His research primarily evaluates associations between exposures to endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) and neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative outcomes.
As a NIEHS K99 grantee, he investigates the mechanistic associations between life-course EDC exposures (PBDEs, OPEs, Phthalates) and adolescent behavioral outcomes, using epigenome, proteome, and neuroimaging as potential mediators. Other research interests include ambient environmental exposure assessments using remote-sensing Earth observations, to build research capacity for exposome-wide association studies. Ultimately, Dr. Puvvula’s goals are to synthesize quantitative evidence from population-based studies to support environmental health education and policy change to improve human well-being.
