We are pleased to share that two DBEI faculty members have been elected Fellows of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia, one of the nation’s oldest professional medical organizations. The College welcomed its newest class of Fellows at its annual College Night ceremony on October 17, 2025.

Please join us in congratulating Jason D. Christie, MD, MSCE, and James P. Guevara, MD, MPH, on their election as Fellows. Dr. Christie, the Paul F. Harron Jr. Family Chair, Chief of the Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Division, and a Professor of Medicine and Epidemiology, is widely recognized for his leadership in translational research on acute lung injury and lung transplantation. Dr. Guevara, Vice Chair of Recruitment, Retention, and Engagement, and a Professor of Pediatrics and Epidemiology, focuses his work on early childhood development, health equity, and improving systems of care for underserved communities, and is a founding member of PolicyLab at CHOP.

Election as a Fellow of the CPP is a notable honor that recognizes meaningful contributions to medicine, public health, and the broader healthcare community. We are proud to see Drs. Christie and Guevara recognized for their impactful scholarship and service.

Congratulations to both on this well-deserved distinction.
