“Novel Healthcare Solutions Don’t Occur in Isolation.”

Dive into Advancing Health Through Data: Inside Penn’s Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology & Informatics to discover how our collaborative, data-driven approach is addressing today’s most complex health challenges and shaping the future of biomedical and population health research.

Three Unique Divisions,
One Unified Mission

Our distinctive departmental structure—uniting the divisions of Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Informatics—sets us apart from most medical schools. While many institutions include Biostatistics and Epidemiology, few integrate Informatics so seamlessly into their core framework. By combining these three fields, we offer a comprehensive approach to understanding and improving population health. Our faculty not only excel in analyzing health data and studying disease patterns but also in leveraging cutting-edge technology and big data to drive innovations in healthcare and research. This unique combination positions us at the forefront of the future of health science, bridging traditional public health expertise with modern data-driven solutions.
